I wasn't as adamant about taking pictures the last couple of days as I have been, but we have tried to keep busy this week! Here's a little breakdown of all we've had going on recently. We have stayed inside most of the time. The only time I've left the entire week was to get groceries. We are trying our hardest to stay healthy during this trying time! It has been difficult and last night I could feel myself kind of crumbling. It feels tough to not have anything to "look forward to" so to speak. It was a Friday night and there was no thought as to "Where are we all going to eat as a family?" Or "Want to call anyone to hang out?" It has been exhausting feeling confined and trying to keep the kids busy. How are you handling the isolation? I am grateful for the somewhat safety I feel keeping the kids home. However, my husband still has to go to work so it is overwhelming- I am so scared he will bring something home to us. Such an unknown time right now. It makes me feel like I'm drowning if I think about it. I know, I know- people say to put your faith in God and not to worry, but in times like these, I struggle.
So, as I've previously said in other blog posts, we always start our mornings off with breakfast first (and getting ready) and then we EXERCISE! Go check out "GoNoodle" if you have a chance. We have the app on our RokuTV. I don't know what else you can get it on, but it's definitely worth the search! We have been having so much fun in the mornings! Well, MOST mornings ;) hahahha! You can check out GoNoodle HERE.
Here we are boogying to "If I Were Not a GoNoodler!" One of our favorites!
After exercise time, we usually focus on CLAs. Quinn and Lucas have been working independently on theirs with a little help from Momma and that frees up time during the last half of the hour for me to work with Tayler alone. She needs a little more structure and reinforcement ;)
This particular day Quinn had to write number sentences for her CLA bag and we used our number game we bought on Amazon. I don't know how much longer you'll be able to purchase goods on Amazon or how shipping companies will work, but the link for this game is HERE if anyone is interested.
After CLAs, we try to have some creative time! The kids can do anything that sparks some creativity in them! We have tangrams that we also purchased on Amazon recently. Link is HERE. We have been having tangram battles to see who can build their card the fastest! It's been fun!
We also purchased some coloring books at Dollar General recently as well as slime and play doh so they have something to do to keep them occupied. Our "creative time" Thursday was time spent outdoors. It was a little chilly, but the kids enjoyed getting some fresh air on the front porch.
After creative time, we have lunch and usually enjoy some kind of visual aid to go along with what everyone is learning per their CLAs. It has mostly been Magic School Bus episodes and Team Umizoomi.. and a few Blippis from Youtube! We have learned a good bit about Dinosaurs this week as well as planting seeds and the solar system thanks to Tayler's books she's had to read!
After lunch and movie time, we usually try to sneak chores in! Everyone has their set stuff they have to do every day. And then after chores, we do quiet time. They are allowed to read a book, play learning games on their iPads, or play things on the computer.
We have been using ABCMouse, ABCYa, PBSkids, and Artsology! So much fun!
After creative time, we usually do some kind of learning again. I've been letting the kids take the rein on this particular time frame since I have them doing CLAs during the first "learning hour." We have done everything from read books to watch some kind of educational TV show that they love to singing fun songs.
After learning time, it's free time and then we get ready for the evening! We have been trying to keep a typical schedule (like they would if they were in school.) So about 4:00, we start cleaning up the rest of the house, getting dinner prepped, etc. Then we try and do some kind of family activity in the evening. One night this week, we had Trolls cookies. They were adorable! And we've been EATING LOCAL and supporting the smaller businesses in our village! We ordered dinner from there last night! We've also played tons of board games and watched some movies. Last night's choice was "Clue" and "Twister" and we watched "Guardians of the Galaxy 1." Mommy even enjoyed some Sudoku!
I've also been filling up some time deep cleaning. I organized my closet a little better yesterday and cleaned the windows. I was laughing trying to take a picture because they were shining so bright from the Windex LOL
And we were all getting a giggle on how Tayler is handling the quarantine-
She's over it so much she doesn't even want to see what's going on LOL
So that's how the Bay fam wrapped up week 1 of our quarantine! How are you all doing during this time?
